The first international trip my partner and I took together was a weekend trip to Helsinki. My partner, being the planner, carefully crafted an itinerary for our extended weekend. I contributed by expressing my desire to visit Suomenlinna, a world heritage site. He found it amusing and teased me about it, considering it nerdy and uncool.

Despite his teasing, he generously set aside one day for Suomenlinna. After our excursion, we had a nice dinner, but he was unusually quiet. I assumed he was tired, but little did I know he was in awe. On our way back to the hotel, he suddenly suggested, “We should try to visit 500 world heritage sites in our lifetime.”

I was taken aback!

From that moment on, we started planning our next trip to another world heritage site. We were both excited about the idea of visiting 500 of them together. It became a shared goal that we were passionate about.

Over the years, we have been fortunate enough to visit many amazing places together. We have seen ancient ruins, historic landmarks, and breathtaking natural wonders. Each trip has been an adventure, and we have cherished every moment of it.

Our journey to visit 500 world heritage sites is not over yet, but we are well on our way. We have visited almost 100 sites so far, and we are constantly planning our next trip. It has been an incredible journey, and I am grateful to have a partner who shares my passion for travel and exploration. And I would like to share our experiences with you.
